The benefits of ignorance.

My computer is no longer charging and the price to fix it is impractical to pay. I currently have no computer of my own until I purchase my new one.

If ignorance is bliss, Father said,
shouldn't you be looking blissful?
You should check to see if you have
the right kind of ignorance. If you're
not getting the benefits that most people
get from acting stupid, then you should
go back to what you always were—
being too smart for your own good.

The constant struggle ensures my insanity.

A lot of changes have been happening this year thus far.
(1/12)?

1. My favorite alcoholic beverage is no longer being manufactured.
Mourning the loss of a fallen bro.

2. I am back at Sierra Nevada.

3. Barack Obama is America's President.

4. The bar my friends and I grew up at closed.
Satellite's last night at Lincoln Lounge.

5. Two of my good friends moved.
Aislynn to the ATL and Jamie to LA.

6. We are going to need a new family portrait.

So much more has happened.
But I don't want to get
too ahead of myself.

You fit into me.

you fit into me
like a hook into an eye

a fish hook
an open eye

I hate the feeling I get
when I remember
how insignificant I am.

1.13.2009

I made no resolutions for the New Year.

The habit of making plans,
of criticizing,
sanctioning,
and molding my life,
is too much of a daily event for me.

I don't believe in one way streets.

Not between people and not while I am driving.

Our last days with Aislynn in San Francisco.

1.06.2009

Long days and even longer nights.

Surprisingly, I have been getting homesick the last few times I have left town.

It is a very new year.
New beginnings.
Clean slates.
